The implementation of the colour code system to indicate the sugar, salt and fat levels of food items has been delayed by a week, the Health Ministry said today (Apr 02).
The Ministry noted that the Attorney General's department was yet to completed the translation of the text that would appear in these colour coded labels.
Accordingly, the gazette notification confirming the colour coding system will be issued next week, Minister Senaratne told reporters at a news conference at the Government Information Department.
