A mother who had surrendered over the killing of her four-year-old daughter in Puttalam has been remanded until February 08.
The order was issued when the suspect was produced before the Puttalam Additional District Magistrate Lahiru S. Silva. The suspect has been identified as 21-year old H.M. Nayana.
Yesterday, Saliyaweva police filed four 'B' reports requesting for a detention order to question the suspect stating that investigations on the disappearance of the child are currently underway. Arrangements were also made to produce her before a psychiatrist.
Accordingly, the suspect was produced to court following psychiatric tests today.
