Ceylon Tobacco’s long-serving director, Susantha Ratnayake has retired from the board of directors, where he was also the chairman, with effect from July 31.
According to a company announcement, Mr. Ratnayake is stepping down both as chairman and non-executive director. He served as the chairman for five years and board director for six years. The notice said that a new chairman will be appointed at the next board meeting of the company.
Mr. Ratnayake is also retiring as John Keells Holdings chairman in December 2018, in line with announcements made by the company earlier, with current deputy chairman Krishan Balendra taking over at the top. – ENDS -
