Police curfew has been imposed in the Chilaw area with immediate effect, Police said.
Curfew has been imposed to control a tense situation that occurred in the town of Chilaw, earlier today (May 12).
Accordingly, police curfew will be in effect until 6 am tomorrow (May 13).
Police media spokesmen Ruwan Gunasekara said following a controversial social media post, a tense situation erupted in Chilaw.
Police have arrested the individual who made the controversial post.
