Leader of the Democratic People's Front (DPF), Mano Ganesan has announced that the party membership of councillor Sun Kugawardhan who was arrested over a financial fraud has been suspended.
Taking to his Twitter handle MP Ganesan said Mr. Kugawardhan has been removed from all positions in the DPF apart from the suspension of his membership.
He also added that the DPF politburo would decide further on this matter by next week.
Shanmuganathan Kugawardhan who is a member of the Western Provincial Council was arrested by officials of the CID over allegedly committing a Rs 72 million fraud.
He will be produced before the Mount Lavinia Magistrates Court today (Dec 27).
