Southern Province Fisheries Minister D.V. Upul was released on bail of two sureties of Rs one million each by the Fort Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya today. He was arrested on June 8 by the Criminal investigation Department (CID) for threatening the police officers attached to the Financial Crimes Investigation Department (FCID) that they would be stoned to death when the former president Mahinda Rajapaksa returned to power.
