The Elections Commission has summoned a meeting of party secretaries on December 4 to discuss preparations for the upcoming Parliamentary elections.
The Commission is also expected to take up for discussion about the delayed provincial council elections.
Another proposal to be taken up for discussion would be the proposal to increase the deposit for candidates of the Presidential elections.
According to the proposal the EC wants to increase the deposit for candidates from Political parties (newly registered) to Rs 2.5 million while for independent candidates Rs 3 million.
The Commission is also proposing a non-refundable deposit to prevent persons from collecting nomination papers and not filing them.
