The Education Ministry will appoint 3000 sports instructors to all government schools by the end of this month, Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam told Times Online.
He noted that the selection process which included conducting interviews has concluded.
Accordingly, these sports instructors will be designated to 302 national schools following which steps would be taken to make such appointments to the other schools.
The Education Minister said that these sports instructors will be purely designated for sports purposes and will not engage in the academic activities of the students.
