Estate Workers' protest at Galle Face Green
A demonstration is currently underway at Galle Face Green, protesters are demanding the daily wages of estate workers be increased to Rs. 1000.
According to reports Estate workers from out station have joined in the demonstrations.
Demonstrations are being held in the backdrop of the lapsing of a joint agreement on estate workers' daily wages. The demonstration was launched following the failure in negotiations to enter into a new agreement.
