One among the three injured in the Kahawatta shooting incident succumbed to his injuries today, provincial sources said. The victim has been identified as 58 years old Shantha Dodangoda from the Kahawatte area. Last Monday three people were injured when an unidentified person had fired shots at them while decorating a stage for an election rally of New Democratic Front (NDF) presidential candidate Maithripala Sirisena in Kahawatta.

A Sri Lankan man was apprehended at Suvarnabhumi airport for attempting to smuggle wildlife out of the country after three ball pythons were found hidden in his underwear, the Bangkok post reported.
