Joint Opposition Parliamentarian Prasanna Ranatunga took office as Minister of Industrial Exports & Investment Promotions, Tourism & Aviation today.
He assumed his duties after a ceremony at the Industrial Exports & Investment Promotions Ministry premises.
A ministry spokesman said Mr. Ranatunga would meet employees of the Tourism and Aviation ministry this evening.
Mr. Ranatunga is one of the two first- time ministers in the present caretaker cabinet. The other first-time minister is Ramesh Pathirana.
Mr. Ranatunga served as the Chief Minister of the Western Province before entering Parliament in 2015.
