Five missing on Sri Pada reserve rescued

Five persons who went missing inside the Sri Pada Forest Reserve have been rescued unharmed by the Police Special Task Force (STF). The group, which included two women, had entered the reserve through the upper division of the Laxapana Estate on Monday. 

Four of the pilgrims are residents of Nugegoda while the fifth member is reported to be an estate employee. 

The missing group was first spotted by a Bell 412 helicoptor belonging to the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) which had been deployed to search for them.
