Former Editor of the Dinamina and veteran media personality G.S. Perera pased away. His cremation takes place today at the Public Cemetery, Borella.
Born on May 15, 1929 at Narahenpita, he was educated at Wesley College. He entered Colombo University in 1953 and joined the Dinamina in 1957 as a sub editor. He was appointed Features Editor of Dinamina in 1974 and Deputy Editor of Dinamina on June 15, 1976. He was appointed Chief Editor Dinamina in 1982 and continued to serve in that post for 13 years. Perera was a father of four. He was one of the co-editors of the Sri Lanka 10th Parliament, a Lake House Publication edited by senior journalists W.G. Gunaratne and R.S. Karunaratne. He also served as a Consultant Editor of Lankadeepa.
