Former Chairman of Lanka Sathosa Nalin Ruwanjeewa Fernando was released on bail today April 12 by the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court.
Ruwanjeewa Fernando was released on a Rs 25,000 cash bail and two surety bails of Rs 300,000 rupees each by Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne.
The former Chairman was arrested by the Police Financial Crimes Investigations Division for misappropriating a sum of Rs 39 million in public funds.
The Magistrate also issued an order for Court to impound the passport of the suspect. The case will be taken up for hearing once again on May 11.
