The French naval vessel “Revi” arrived at the Trincomalee port this morning on a goodwill visit,Navy said. The ship was ceremonially welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in accordance with naval traditions on her arrival.
Commanding Officer of 'Revi', Lieutenant Stephane Congues met the Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Travis Sinniah and held cordial discussions. Mementos were also exchanged during the occasion. The ship will remain in the island till August 18 while its crew is scheduled to take part in a number of events organized by the Sri Lanka Navy during this period.

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is due to vacate his official residence at Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo this morning, a Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) source said.
The Presidents’ Entitlements (Repeal) Bill was passed by a majority of 150 in parliament today. However the opposition MP’s were absent during the voting.
