Hambantota Mayor remanded
The Hambantota Magistrate today remanded Mayor of the Hambantota Municipal Council, Eraj Fernando, until tomorrow over an assault incident, provincial sources said. Earlier Mr. Fernando was arrested regarding in an incident in March 2014, where he stormed into the Ambalantota Police Station and attempted to attack and kidnap a suspect under police custody.
