Former Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando and IGP Pujith Jayasundara have been summoned before the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) today (Jul 2), CID sources said.
Yesterday, the Attorney General had instructed the Acting IGP to name the said officials as suspects in the Easter Sunday terror attacks case and produce them before court.
These instructions had been issued over their failure to prevent the terrorist bombings despite having prior information regarding it.
