India's Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has met with ministers from Britain, Sri Lanka and Thailand at United Nations (UN) to discuss cooperation in fighting the international drug menace.
Jaitley met the ministers on the sidelines of the General Assembly Special Session on the drug problem, according to the Indian mission.
With Oliver Letwin, the British Minister for the Cabinet Office and adviser to Prime Minister David Cameron, and Thai Justice Minister Paiboon Koomchaya, he discussed memorandums of understanding on cooperation in drugs and narcotics control. These pertain to improving cooperation, learning about best practices and learning from efforts undertaken and about newer forms of substance abuse.
During Jaitlehy's meeting with Sagala Ratnayake, the Sri Lankan Minister of Law and Order and Southern Development, in addition to issues of combating drugs, they also discussed development assistance and investments.(IANS)
