Kandy curfew lifted

The 24-hour curfew imposed on the Kandy administrative district was lifted at 10am today. Inspector General of Police (IGP) Pujith Jayasundara imposed the curfew at 4pm yesterday till 4pm today under emergency regulations. 

However, the situation overnight has been largely peaceful, with no major incidents reported. As such, a decision has been taken to lift the curfew from 10am today.
