Long queues have begun forming at petrol stations as unions attached to the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation have launched a protest demanding the arrest of Parliamentarian Arjuna Ranatunga.
A tense situation was reported last evening at the CPC, Dematagoda head Office when Parliamentarian Arjuna Ranatunga is said to have arrived at the location. Police Media Spokesman Superintendent of Police Ruwan Gunasekara said the unrest had escalated when a security officer of MP Ranatunga opened fire.
The security officer has been arrested by Police over the shooting.
