President Maithripala Sirisena has held discussions with United Peoples Freedom Alliance (UPFA) parliamentarians and the Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe over the two clauses proposed to the 19 the amendment by UPFA ahead voting. The meeting is to resolve the issues over appointing parliamentarians to the Constitutional Council and the whether the president should consult with the prime minister when naming a cabinet. The voting is due to take place at 6 pm.
