Matale mayor arrested over assault
Matale Mayor, Daljith Aluwihare was arrested by police today (9).
The arrest was made over an incident of assaulting of a UNP Municipal Council member on Wednesday (8). Mr Aluwihare is to be produced to Matale magistrate later in the day.
