The media were asked to leave the Parliamentary Sitting Committee (PSC) session in which Army Commander Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake is currently providing evidence on the Easter Sunday attacks.
Today's (Jun 26) PSC sessions commenced at around 2:15 am with the Army Commander providing evidence before the Committee amidst the presence of the media.
However, some 10 minutes into the session, the PSC had asked the media to leave the sittings by citing that "sensitive" content could be revealed during the testimony.
During the first few minutes of the hearing which were open to the media, the Army Commander had discussed matters on how Sri Lanka's intelligence had been stengthened following the appointments of the new Defence Secretary and the Chief of National Intelligence.
Former Minister Rishad Bathiudeen arrived at the Parliamentary complex a short while ago and is set to provide evidence before the Committee.
