More than a 1000 families have been affected by the current adverse weather conditions in the country, the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) reported.
The DMC in a statement provided the following figures last evening regarding the damages caused as well as the number of families and individuals affected to date.
Affected Families - 1317
Individuals - 5200
Deaths - 7
Fully Destroyed Buildings - 8
Partially Destroyed Buildings - 825
Damaged Shops - 28
Relief for the affected is being provided through District Secretariat offices in collaboration with the DMC. The DMC is also engaged in efforts to provide compensation to those who have been affected.
