Parliamentarian Shantha Abeysekara has been remanded until October 17 on orders of the Chilaw High Court, for violating bail conditions, today (Oct 10).
Abysekara, is facing a trial after a firearm had been recovered from his residence on May 30, 2005. He had been previously released on bail.
The remand order was issued after Police informed court that the Puttalam District parliamentarian had violated his bail conditions on two occasions.
