Parliamentarian Shantha Kumara's son who was arrested over an assault of a police constable has been released on bail today (Jul 4).
Chilaw District Magistrate Manjula Ratnayake had released the suspect on two surety bails of Rs 100,000 each.
The suspect has been accused of assaulting a police officer attached to the ministerial security division of his father.
Further hearing on the case will take palce on July 12, court announced today.
