Badulla district parliamentarian Chaminda Wijesiri has surrendered before the Bandarawela Magistrates Court over the assault of a police constable earlier this week.
Bandarawela police had commenced a search operation to arrest the parliamentarain over the assault of a constable attached to the Police Narcotics Bureau opposite the Bandarawela Post Office.
However, MP Bandara is currently present before the Bandarawela magistrates Court.
Former Minister and leader of the Eelam People’s Democratic Party (EPDP) Douglas Devenanada was arrested by the Criminal investigation Department (CID) today.
