The Provost sailors of Sri Lanka Navy have been deployed to control the traffic within municipal limits of the Colombo city.
They would be supporting the Police to control Traffic
Navy Provost sailors have been deployed for traffic duties in coordination with Modara Police.
"Through this initiative, it is expected to control the traffic efficiently and to minimize the wastage of man hours while reducing the air pollution.", the Navy said in a statement.
Earlier the Military Police also was deployed to control traffic in the city.
