Nominations to elect a new President of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) will be handed over at the BASL headquarters today (Jan 10).
Senior Criminal Lawyer, Presidents Counsel Kalinda Indratissa and former BASL Secretary, Mahinda Lokuge are tipped to be nominated for this year’s election which will take place on February 20.
Presidents Counsel U.R. De Silva had served as the BASL President during the last two years.

A Sri Lankan man was apprehended at Suvarnabhumi airport for attempting to smuggle wildlife out of the country after three ball pythons were found hidden in his underwear, the Bangkok post reported.
