North prepares for Deepavali

Many shops in the north were crowded today as people went about doing last minute shopping for the Deepavali festival which falls tomorrow. 

Signifying the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil, the Hindu festival is due to be celebrated with much enthusiasm this year as heavy rains have now fallen in the north, signifying the end of a long drought.
