OIC arrested while accepting Rs.300, 000 bribe

Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the Kalkudah Police Administrative Unit was arrested by officers from the Bribery Commission today while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 300, 000 from a businessman. 

The OIC had allegedly demanded the bribe to release a police report that was necessary for the businessman to obtain a permit from the Central Environmental Authority (CEA) to open a brick factory in the area. 

The suspect was arrested at Valaichchenai, Koralaipattu Pradeshiya Sabha while allegedly accepting the bribe,
