A 44-year old has been killed in the Peragirigama area in Kataragama last night.
Police said that three unidentified persons had broken into the residence of the victim before attacking him with a sharp weapon.
The attackers had concealed their identity at the time of the incident.
The victim, a 44-year old had died upon admission to the Maharagama hospital.
A magisterial inquest and a post mortem examination are to be carried out on the remains of the victim today.
