Peradeniya Uni Engineering Faculty closed indefinitely
The Engineering Faculty of the Peradeniya University has been closed indefinitely. The decision to close down the faculty had been taken by the university administration over an issue of students wanting to sit exams without 80 per cent attendance for lectures.
Students have been protesting the decision taken by university authorities to insist on 80 per cent attendance at lectures as a pre-condition to sit for exams.
All students of the faculty have been informed to vacate their hostels by 2.00pm today.
