Police Inspector Neomal Rangajeewa of the Police Narcotics Bureau has been transferred to the Police Field Headquarters after taking his health condition into account, according to Police sources.
IP Rangajeewa who is reported to have received several death threats has now been provided police personnel for security reasons.
The police inspector was injured in a shooting that took place in Piliyandala during a drug bust.
Police suspect that an associate of drug kingpin Makandure Madush had carried out the shooting.
