A special programme was launched yesterday to train police officers on implementing anti-narcotic programmes, Police Spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara said.
The programme is being carried out with the collaboration of the National Dangerous Drugs Control Board (NDDCB).
During this one-month long programme, police officers will also be trained on helping individuals with drug addictions.
This training programme which is being attended by more than 100 police officers, will be conducted under the supervision of Colombo South Superintendent Nishantha Soysa.
