This year Sri Lanka's 68th Independence Day on February 4th will be celebrated at the Galle Face Green in Colombo under the theme "Ekama Deyak, Maha Balayak" (One Nation, Great Power).
Two main events have been planned to celebrate the Independence Day. A military parade would be held in the morning and a cultural pageant will be held in the evening.
The main ceremony including tri forces guard of honor and procession will be held at 9 am under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
