President Maithripala Sirisena has told TNA party members to take another no-confidence vote in Parliament on December 05, TNA MP Sivamohan said.
Speaking to Times Online following the TNA's meeting with the President a short while ago, MP Sivamohan said that the President had said that he would accept the result if the vote takes place as per the electronic method.
"The President said that the side which proves the majority on December 05 should become the government," MP Sivamohan told Times Online.
During the meeting, TNA leader R. Sampanthan had told the President that they had repeatedly submitted motions consisting 122 signatures thereby proving that they had the majority in the house.
However, the President had replied by saying that he would only accept the result on December 05.
Meanwhile, President Sirisena had pledged that he would meet with the relevant authorities in the presence of TNA MPs on December 03 at the Presidential Secretariat in order to discuss regarding the release of Tamil political prisoners.
