The President’s Office was yet to inform Parliament of the resignations of Muslim Cabinet, State and Deputy Ministers of the Government, Deputy Chairperson of Committees, Selvam Adaikkalanathan said today (Jun 04).
He made the statement in answer to a point of order raised by UPFA MP Keheliya Rambukwella as to why the seating arrangements in Parliament for Muslim MPs in the Government has not changed, though they had told the media yesterday that they were quitting their posts and were going to sit as backbenchers of the Government.
Mr Adaikkalanathan said Parliament will make the necessary seating changes to seating arrangements once the President’s Office informs Parliament about the resignations.
