President’s Secretary sworn in today

Austin Fernando was sworn in as the new Secretary to the President while Kapila Waidyarathne was sworn in as the new Defense Secretary.

In addition, Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake was sworn in as the new Commander of the Army and former Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama was sworn in as the Governor of Eastern Province, a position that became vacant due to the resignation of Austin Fernando, government news media reported.
