Price of bread to go up by Rs 5 from tonight
The price of a loaf of bread will be increased by Rs 5 with effect from midnight today (Jul 17), the Bakery Owners Association said.
This decision had been taken after two companies had increased wheat flour prices upto around Rs 8 this week.
"However, we have not taken a decision to increase the prices of other bakery products," Bakery Owners Association President N.K. Jayawardena told Times Online.
