An exhibition to showcase products of small business owners in the north and a discussion on how to develop these products for export purposes was held recently at the Northern Province District Secretariat.
Stalls featuring various exhibits were declared open at the function. Representatives of many banks also took part in the meeting, while awareness campaigns regarding promoting export quality products were also held.
The program seeks to empower some 2000 small business owners in the Northern Province.
Northern Province Chief Minister Reginald Cooray, Northern Province Chief Minister C.V. Vigneswaran, Minister of Development Strategies and International Trade, Malik Samarawickrama, State Minister of International Trade Sujeewa Senasinghe, State Minister of Child Affairs, Vijayakala Maheswaran were among the dignitaries who took part.
