A protest was held on Sunday in the Adampankulam in the Settikulam area in Vavuniya District against the STF camp in Adampankulam, local media reported Locals protested against the death of a 55-year-old woman, claiming that her death was caused by an electricity leak from the power line to the camp. They said that the deceased individual lived in an adjoining land to the camp. She had been electrocuted on September 17 on her land, near the boundary with the camp. Villagers claim that the STF camp is a hindrance to the locals and there was no need for it since the war is over. TNA MP Shivashakthi Anandan also arrived at the protest. Locals handed over a letter addressed to the Parliamentarians, demanding the removal of the camp, local media reported.
