The Public Service Commission (PSC) will decide on the proposed transfer of Colombo Municipal Council Commissioner V K Anura tomorrow, Western Governor Azath Salley said today (Apr 17).
Mr. Salley noted that reports from the Presidential Commission, Auditor General and a special committee appointed by him have revealed that Mr. Anura was involved a fraudulent deal in the aftermath of the Meethotamulla garbage dump collapse.
“We have submitted all these findings to the PSC, which will meet tomorrow and decide on the action which would be taken accordingly,” the governor told reporters today. He also insisted that his office believes in justice and therefore would not bow down to any undue pressure.
Commissioner Anura has been accused of involvement in certain irregularities while purchasing garbage trucks for the Western Province despite procuring 12 garbage trucks previously for this purpose.
