The basic salaries of state-sector employees will be increased between a range of Rs 2500 - Rs 10,000 from this month onwards, the Finance Ministry said.
Accordingly, the basic salaries of lower-level public servants and high-ranking officials would be increased by Rs 2500 and Rs 10,000 respectively.
The Rs 10,000 allowance which was given to public servants in 2015 would also be incorporated into the salaries of civil servants in five stages from 2016 to 2020.
Public servants will receive a further raise in their basic wages ranging between Rs 2500 and Rs 10,000 as their final increment in January next year.
This move would see the minimum salary of civil servants go upto Rs 35,000 by January 2020.
