Former Central Province Opposition leader Renuka Herath passed away today (March 13), while being treated in the Kandy General Hospital, local media reported.
She was seventy two at the time of her passing.
She served as the Health Minister during President Ranasinghe Premadasa's presidency.
The final rites of veteran broadcaster, writer, and lyricist Nirmala de Alwis will be held today at Peradeniya.
