Measures have been taken to temporarily shut down the Pigeon Island National Park, the Wildlife Conservation Department said.
The park authorities were forced to close as a result of the rough seas prevailing in the Eastern sea.
P.D. Sunil Shantha, an administrator at the park said that this condition of the sea may last till the end of this month.
Meanwhile, Wildlife Officials have requested tourists to avoid visiting the park until conditions return to normal.
