Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe today (Dec 21) slammed media outlets that had reported a 'fake list' of nominated ministers that were not approved by the President.
Mr. Wickremesinghe refuted the list which according to him had carried the name of MP Wijith Wijayamuni Soyza as a nominated cabinet minister.
He further said that certain media institutions were attempting to mislead the public and action must be taken against them.
The Prime Minister also called for a debate next month on media institutions that were reporting false information.
While admitting that there were certain differences in opinion with the President regarding certain ministerial appointments, Mr. Wickremesinghe said that he was confident that the issues would be resolved.
