Salawa protest ends

A group of area residents staged a protest near the Salawa army camp in Kosgama this morning. The protestors claimed that they were yet to receive the Government allowance of Rs.50,000 that had been allocated for those who could not yet resettle in their houses. They also alleged there were discrepencies in the estimates authorities had carried out with regard to property damage. 

The protest resulted in the High Level road being blocked off for traffic for over two hours at Kosgama, Salawa.
