The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) has made arrangements to deploy 100 additional buses due to the two-day railway strike that is in operation.
Deputy General Manager of the SLTB, P.H.R.T Chandrasiri told Times Online that these buses will be deployed from the Central Bus Stand in Pettah.
"The SLTB deploys 1350 passenger buses on normal days. However, due to the railway strike that is being carried out, the SLTB has decided to increase the number upto 1450" Mr. Chandrasiri added.
He further said that these buses will be in operation until the strike is called off.
Railway trade unionists have launched a two-day strike operation from today (Dec 26) onwards due to anomalies in the grading of officers.
