Transport Minister Mahinda Amaraweera has instructed the Transport Ministry Secretary to immediately interdict the SLTB driver of the Jaffna-Akkaraipattu bound bus after he was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol.
The driver had been arrested last night at Navatkuli in Jaffna by the police with the assistance of the military following a tip-off.
Police also recovered bottles of arrack and beer from the traveling bag of the suspect during a search of the SLTB bus, the Transport Ministry said.
